What Is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is a quiet, confidential space where you can explore your inner life and your relationship with the Sacred—God, Spirit, or Mystery. It is not advice or problem-solving. It is a slow, contemplative listening that helps you notice where the Divine may already be moving in your life.

All are welcome: those with a strong faith, those who are spiritual but not religious, those who are questioning, and anyone drawn to deeper meaning.

Individual Spiritual Direction

Individual sessions are one-on-one conversations rooted in deep listening. My role is to help you discern where God may be present in your desires, struggles, and daily experiences.

This work often opens a connection to the Divine that can be hard to access on our own. People seek individual direction to:

  • Recognize God’s presence in daily life

  • Find clarity in times of transition or decision

  • Cultivate inner peace and spiritual grounding

  • Strengthen their capacity to listen for the Sacred

Group Spiritual Direction

Groups may form among business leaders, physicians or other health care professionals, women, members of a congregation, athletes.  In essence, any small group that is drawn together by their desire for a deeper connection with the Divine, in the company of others.

Group spiritual direction gathers a small circle for shared contemplative listening. Participants support one another by witnessing, not fixing. The space is prayerful, spacious, and grounded in confidentiality.

As Alice Fryling shared:

“The purpose of group spiritual direction is to provide a place where individuals can experience what it means to be listened to and loved by others, so that they can learn to listen more attentively to God in their daily lives and to be used by God to spread God’s grace and love throughout the world.”

Is This for You?

  • Do you have a desire for God?

  • Are you willing to be present as others reflect on the Spirit in their lives?

  • Are you willing to hold the group in prayer?

If you answer yes, you are warmly invited.

Group Guidelines

To protect the sacredness of the space, groups commit to:

  • confidentiality

  • respectful, prayerful listening

  • no advice-giving or problem-solving

  • supporting one another with compassion

  • showing up consistently
